London Theater Tour
For ten years, Ciardelli has led a 2-
THE DECAMERON – in development
A project based on Boccaccio’s collection of 14th Century tales, exploring the modern day equivalent of the plague as acts of terrorism. Actors from 10 countries (Afghanistan, Iraq, Northern Ireland, Norway, Macedonia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Mexico, England & the US) use video blogging to adapt the source material. Once a the adaptation has been created, the 10 actors will travel to the US, rehearse and premiere the play, which will then tour back to the 10 actor’s countries.
Partner arts councils and theaters in the 10 countries have committed to the partnership and a development workshop has been held in England.
Durham Drama Festival
For the past three years, Brooke has been invited to the Durham International Drama Festival to lead workshops and adjudicate the New Works Festival. Workshop topics include scene study, auditioning, musical theater performance, director’s lab and producing International Theater.
As a result of her participation in the Durham Drama Festival, Brooke was invited by the Master of Castle, to become a Visiting Fellow of University College, Durham University, England. Her commitments include artistic advisement of campus based theater companies, teaching workshops, drama school audition coaching and individual mentoring.

Brooke Ciardelli adapted a selection of myths from Ovid’s Metamorphoses and in partnership with Leslie Center for the Humanities, Developing Artists (UK) and Northern Stage, invited actors from Zimbabwe, Mexico, Norway & Romania to the US to collaborate with actors from the US. The International ensemble, directed by Brooke Ciardelli, performed the piece at Dartmouth College as the headliner for their Summer Arts Festival.

Ciardelli and Loreque also traveled to Berlin to conduct research for the production which is based on a real woman’s life, met with curators of the Charlotte von Mahlsdorf museum of her house, walked her footsteps through Berlin and had interviews with people referenced in the text.

While in Edinburgh, Ciardelli lectured for Elderhostle Festival Tours, collaborated with Developing Artists with a USA Producer’s theater tour and received an invitation to headline the Dublin Gay Theater Festival.
