Writer / Adapter

Brooke has adapted a number of classical pieces for the stage. She received unprecedented permission from the Arthur Miller Estate to create a modernized, Syrian-American adaptation of the original Italian-American A View From The Bridge.

Brooke’s adaptation of Ovid’s Metamorphoses, O Myths was performed as the basis of an international exchange between actors from New York, Zimbabwe, Mexico and Romania.

Her adaptation The Shrew Tamer was received as “a delicious new comedy,” with Ed Siegel of the Boston Globe commenting “Ciardelli has fashioned a play of significant historical interest”. Brooke has also co-adapted a 1950’s farcical comedy From the Manor Torn.
